BREAST CANCER AND CERVICAL CANCER AWARENESS IN COMMEMORATION OF THE 30TH FISLA ANNIVERSARY – KADE

As part of the activities marking the 30th Anniversary Celebration of the Fire Service Ladies Association (FISLA), members of the Kade Fire Station, in collaboration with the medical staff of the Kade Government Hospital, organized a breast and cervical cancer awareness and screening exercise at the hospital premises.

The event commenced with an educational session during which participants were sensitized on the causes, early warning signs, and preventive measures related to breast and cervical cancers.

This was aimed at empowering women with the knowledge and skills necessary for early detection and better health outcomes.

Following the education, the participants underwent screening for both breast and cervical cancer. They were further advised on lifestyle practices and health-seeking behaviors to reduce the risk of future occurrences.

The exercise saw the active participation of Fire Service Assistance (FSA) personnel and members of the Public Relations Department, who supported the initiative throughout.

Speaking after the exercise, the FISLA Representative for Kade, LFW Alberta Oforiwaa Nsor, expressed heartfelt appreciation to the medical team for their commitment and support. She commended their professionalism and encouraged that such screening exercises be institutionalized as an annual event to promote the health and well-being of FISLA members.
