Groundbreaking Day for Akwatia Fire Station!

Akwatia, Friday October 31, 2025 – The Akwatia Fire Station took a major step forward today as the Nkosohene of Akwatia led a celebratory groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a much-needed crew room and watch room. This initiative marks a significant investment in the safety and well-being of the community.

The event, which took place at 1204 hours, saw an enthusiastic entourage, including the District Chief Executive (DCE) Hon. Urma Ahmed Tutu, traditional leaders (Nananom), and representatives from the district assembly.

Representing the Regional Fire Officer, the Municipal Fire Officer for Kade, DOII Felix Amoah, expressed profound gratitude for the project. He applauded the proactive step and made a heartfelt appeal for additional support from benevolent individuals and organizations to further enhance the fire service’s capabilities.

In a wonderful display of community backing, the station also received generous donations, including 10 student mattresses, two TV sets, one refrigerator, and a microwave.

DCE Hon. Urma Ahmed Tutu reaffirmed the assembly's commitment, stating clearly that his office remains open and ready to assist the fire service in every possible way. 

Madam Fati Abubakar, the representative for the Nkosohene, was visibly overwhelmed with appreciation for the collaborative spirit shown by the service.

This groundbreaking is a powerful symbol of the Akwatia community and its leadership investing directly in the courageous men and women who protect their lives and property.
