MAHAMA PROMISE OF SECOND HOLIDAY FOR MUSLIMS IS REAL SHOW OF CONCERN - Baba Jamal Esq

The fomer Member of Parliament and a private Legal Practitioner, Hon. Baba Jamal has stated that the promise of granting an extra day of holiday to muslims on idul fitir festival to resolve the issue of the citing of the moon is a show of great concern for muslims in the country.

Hon. Baba Jamal stated on radio Denkyembour online that the promise by HE John Dramani Mahama shows his understanding of the Muslim ummah(community) and his concern to do what is needed for the ummah than what is politically expedient.

In the teachings of Islam leadership is about doing what is right and needed for the ummah but not empty promises that never get fulfilled. A muslim must follow and elect a leader with a Muslim character and not a leader with a muslim name, he reiterated.

The Lawyer who is also very knowledgeable in the Islamic teachings indicated that the Muslim must look out for the Good qualities as thought by Islam in leaders who seek their mandate but not just the name.

Hon. Baba Jamal further stated that HE JDM has prooving over the years that he is a trust worthy person and his words can be trurted. His promise to grant the second day of holiday is therefore believable and my brothers and sisters in Islam must be assured it will be fulfilled.
